Hair Extensions Aftercare

Hair extension aftercare is very important with regards to how long your new hair will last. The better care, the longer life your hair will have!

We recommend the following instructions are adhered to as much as possible:

Coconut Products

Our hair extensions are best suited to coconut-based products and argan oil.

Washing

Before washing ensure your hair extensions are brushed and tangle-free.  If possible stand under a shower with your head upright, massaging your hair without rubbing or twisting, and avoid applying conditioner to the roots of your hair.  After rinsing squeeze out the excess water and pat dry with a towel. Avoid wrapping your hair and extensions in a towel after showering.  If you have Tape-In Hair Extensions DO NOT wash your hair and extensions for at least 2-3 days after application.

Brushing and Drying

Gently brush your wet hair extensions starting from the bottom and working towards the roots.  Once they are detangled, gently blow dry your hair.  Always hold the extensions when brushing.

Styling

Our hair extensions are human hair, therefore, can be treated just like your natural hair, with straightening, curling and colouring all possible. However, be aware that all processes involving heat or chemicals are likely to shorten the lifespan of the hair extensions. Please note we will NOT be responsible for the result and/or any damage to the hair extensions that have been caused by any client or customer colouring/bleaching by whatever process.

Sleeping

Before going to bed ensure your hair and extensions are completely dry. Brush through carefully and put in a low plait.  Never retire with wet hair as this will cause the extensions to matt.

Swimming/Sun Bathing etc

Use the single plait technique whilst undertaking any activities, then afterwards shampoo, condition and dry your extensions.  Please note that excess heat and chlorine exposure can cause lighter shades.

Maintenance

Every 4-8 weeks always have your hair extensions checked by your hair extension technician.  This will ensure that the hair extension bonds are still in place and not damaging your hair.
